Built at the turn of the last century, the cottage bought by Allen's parents in 1951, had all the characteristics of a perfect country bolt hole. When Allen inherited the property, and Lalita eventually got the opportunity re-decorate it, they quickly feel in love with its cosy proportions, open fires, leafy remote location, and undulating surrounding countryside. For Allen, the cottage held many fond childhood memories. Sacrificing the garage to make a new larger kitchen, opened up and transformed the character of this idyllic English cottage.
