For Linda Carter mixing old and new comes naturally. Throughout the home she shares with husband Ray and on occasion their three grown up children eclectic displays of treasured heirlooms quirky finds and clever ideas are testament to her ability to blend the two seamlessly together.In fact the house itself reflects this approach perfectly too. Although only 40 years old the property - one of four constructed by the same builder - is so sympathetically designed with old bricks oak beams and Kent peg tiles that its age is indistinct. They were drawn to its old-fashioned appeal. 'We loved the crittel windows andy the authentic details but recognised that being only a few decades old there wouldn't be the upkeep and renovation that a genuinely old property might require.'
